On July 20, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) appointed Manolo Marquez as the new head coach of the Indian men’s football team. He will officially assume the role after the conclusion of the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season.

Marquez, originating from Barcelona, Spain, has an impressive coaching history. He achieved his first major success in India with Hyderabad FC, leading them to their inaugural ISL championship in 2022.
Achievements with Indian Teams
Following three seasons at Hyderabad FC, Marquez transitioned to FC Goa. Under his guidance, FC Goa secured third place in the league and reached the playoffs semifinals last season, bolstering his standing in Indian football.
Career Before India
Prior to his arrival in India in 2020, Marquez enjoyed a broad coaching career in Spain, working with clubs like Las Palmas and Espanyol at various levels. He also gained international coaching experience in Thailand and Croatia.
