At the 63rd National Open Athletics Championships held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, Vithya Ramraj made headlines by breaking a long-standing record in the women’s 400m hurdles. Her remarkable time of 56.23 seconds surpassed the 1985 record of 56.80 seconds set by the iconic P.T. Usha, marking a historic moment in Indian athletics.

Standout Performances in the Men’s Events

The championships were filled with incredible athleticism on display, especially in the men’s events. Nithin from Tamil Nadu was another standout, setting a new meet record in the men’s 200m with a time of 20.66 seconds, surpassing the previous mark held by Animesh Kujur.
