Teaching and Administrative Posts

1. Assistant Professor

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant or allied subject with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Applicants must also have qualified UGC NET, CSIR NET, SLET/SET or hold a PhD degree meeting the applicable UGC regulations.

Age Limit: 21–38 years for General candidates, 41 years for OBC/MOBC, 43 years for SC/ST and 48 years for PwD candidates, as on 1 November 2026.

2. Deputy Registrar

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 78,800–2,11,500 plus admissible allowances.

Qualification: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates must have nine years of experience as an Assistant Professor or above, including three years in educational administration, or equivalent experience in higher education or research institutions. Alternatively, five years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post is required.

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on 1 June 2026.

3. Deputy Controller of Examinations

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 78,800–2,11,500 plus admissible allowances.

Qualification: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks. Applicants must have nine years of relevant academic experience with educational administration experience, comparable experience in research or higher education institutions, or five years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or equivalent.

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on 1 June 2026.

4. Finance Officer

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000–1,10,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of experience in finance and accounts in a university, government organisation, PSU or research organisation. Alternatively, candidates with ICAI/ICWAI qualifications or MBA Finance must have five years of management-level experience in finance and accounts.

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on 1 June 2026.

5. Librarian

• Pay Scale: Rs. 57,700–1,82,400 plus admissible allowances.

Qualification: Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks. Candidates must have eight years of experience as an Assistant University Librarian or College Librarian, evidence of innovative library services and a PhD in the relevant field.

Age Limit: 21–38 years for General, 41 years for OBC/MOBC, 43 years for SC/ST and 48 years for PwD candidates, as on 1 November 2026.

6. Junior Assistant

• Pay Scale: Rs. 14,000–49,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university along with a computer proficiency certificate from a recognised institute.

Age Limit: 18–40 years for General, 41 years for OBC/MOBC, 43 years for SC/ST and 48 years for PwD candidates, as on 1 November 2026.

7. Laboratory Assistant

• Pay Scale: Rs. 14,000–49,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5,600.
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognised university.
• Age Limit: 18–40 years for General candidates, with applicable category relaxations.

8. Laboratory Bearer

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 12,000–37,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 3,900.
• Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass.
• Age Limit: 18–40 years for General candidates, with applicable category relaxations.

9. Grade IV

• No. of Posts: 02 (OBC/MOBC and UR-PwD)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 12,000–37,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 3,900.
• Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass.
• Age Limit: As per the category-wise rules mentioned in the official notification.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the prescribed non-refundable application fee through a Demand Draft.

The Demand Draft must be drawn in favour of Registrar, Nagaon University, payable at Nagaon University Fund, Assam Gramin Bank, Nagaon Branch. Candidates applying for multiple posts must pay separate application fees for each application.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve screening of applications followed by a written test and/or interview, depending on the post.
