Eligibility Criteria for CTET September 2026
The eligibility criteria for CTET are based on the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education.
Eligibility for Classes I to V (Primary Stage)
Candidates must fulfill any one of the following qualifications:
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE norms.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and appearing in final year of B.El.Ed.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed qualification.
Eligibility for Classes VI to VIII (Elementary Stage)
Candidates should possess any one of the following:
- Graduation with Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed.
- Graduation with 45% marks and B.Ed as per NCTE rules.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and B.El.Ed.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed (Special Education).
Candidates pursuing recognized teacher education courses are also eligible to apply.
