Meeting Between Maharashtra Officials and CyberTech Global

The announcement followed a meeting held on 9 October 2026 between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, CyberTech Global founder Amir Rapaport and Israeli Consul General Yaniv Revach. The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence in south Mumbai.

Their discussions covered cybersecurity, emerging technologies and the Maharashtra government’s MahaCyber initiative. These areas are closely connected as governments and organisations work to protect digital services from fraud, cyberattacks and unauthorised access.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss cybersecurity practices and the role of international cooperation in addressing digital risks. Cyber threats can cross national borders, making information sharing and cooperation between technology organisations and public authorities important.

What Is CyberTech Global?

CyberTech Global was established in 2014. It operates an international conference and exhibition platform focused on cybersecurity and digital innovation, with events held in different parts of the world.

Its programmes bring together people working in technology, business, government and digital security. Such events provide opportunities to discuss security challenges, present new solutions and build professional connections.

The planned CyberTech Asia 2027 event in Mumbai will mark the platform’s first appearance in India, according to the announcement. It is expected to connect India’s technology ecosystem with cybersecurity professionals and organisations from across Asia.

What Is MahaCyber?

MahaCyber is a Maharashtra government initiative focused on addressing cybercrime and digital threats in the state. Its work is associated with preventing and investigating online fraud and other forms of cybercrime.

Cybersecurity involves protecting computers, networks, software and digital information from unauthorised access, damage or disruption. It includes technical tools as well as practices such as secure passwords, software updates, data protection and awareness of online scams.

Online fraud can take many forms, including phishing messages, fake websites, identity theft and fraudulent financial transactions. Public awareness, effective reporting systems and cooperation among law enforcement agencies and technology experts are important in responding to these risks.

Discussions around MahaCyber and cybersecurity at the October meeting reflect the growing importance of digital safety for citizens, businesses and government services.

Why Cybersecurity Matters Today

Digital services are now widely used for banking, shopping, communication, education and government work. This growth offers convenience but also creates opportunities for cybercriminals to target users and organisations.

Cybersecurity helps reduce these risks by protecting sensitive information and keeping digital services reliable. Businesses need to safeguard customer records and financial data, while individuals need to be careful when sharing personal information online.

Events such as CyberTech Asia 2027 can provide a space for experts to discuss changing threats, new security tools and practical ways to improve digital protection. The participation of startups and technology companies may also support the exchange of ideas about emerging solutions.

With Mumbai scheduled to host the event on 17-18 March 2027, further details about speakers, sessions and participating organisations are expected to clarify the programme as the dates approach.
