Esha scored 30 hits in the final, securing third place behind Korea’s Olympic champion Yang Jiin, who won gold with 40 hits, and China’s Yao Qianxun, who claimed silver with 38 hits. This podium finish marks a major achievement in Esha’s career, complementing her previous World Cup successes and setting her up confidently for the ISSF World Cup Finals in Doha.
Strong Qualifications and Intense Final
Both Esha Singh and Manu Bhaker advanced to the top eight after solid performances in qualification, scoring 587 and 586, respectively, out of 86 competitors. Esha entered the final in fifth position, while Manu qualified sixth. The final was highly competitive, with Esha maintaining third place through the series and winning a key duel against France’s Lamolle Mathilde. Manu Bhaker finished fourth, narrowly missing a medal.
India’s Historic Medal Haul

India concluded the championship with a record haul in Olympic shooting events: one gold, four silver, and two bronze medals, marking its best-ever performance at the world level. Overall, India ranked third across all events, behind China and Korea. Other notable Indian shooters, including Rahi Sarnobat in the 25m pistol team and Chain Singh, Akhil Sheoran, and Samarvir Singh in rifle prone events, delivered strong performances but narrowly missed podium finishes.
