Qader Cruise Missile Features Overview

The Qader cruise missile is a medium-range anti-ship missile developed by Iran. It is mainly used by naval forces for coastal defence. This missile is an improved version of the Noor missile, which is based on Chinese technology. It is specially designed to hit targets like warships and large vessels with high accuracy.

Key Properties and Advantages of Qader Cruise Missile Features

One of the main strengths of the Qader missile is its range, which is between 120 to 300 kilometres. It carries a powerful warhead of around 200 kilograms, making it capable of damaging large naval targets. This missile plays an important role in strengthening coastal defence and increasing attack range in sea-based operations.

Working Mechanism and Flight Profile

The missile uses a turbojet engine for propulsion. It follows a special flight path known as sea-skimming, where it flies very close to the sea surface. This makes it difficult for radar systems to detect it. Because of this low-altitude flight, enemy defence systems get very little time to respond, increasing the missile’s success rate.

Understanding Cruise Missiles

Cruise missiles are guided weapons that fly at low altitudes to avoid detection. They are powered by jet engines and can change direction during flight. These missiles use advanced navigation systems like GPS and inertial guidance. Their speed can range from subsonic to supersonic, and they can be launched from land, air, or sea.
