Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the 47th All India Public Relations Conference 2025 in Dehradun, popularly referred to as the Uttarakhand PR Conference, highlighting the growing role of clear and responsible communication in public life. The three-day national event brought together public relations professionals, government officials, media experts, and communication specialists from different parts of India and abroad. The conference once again placed Dehradun at the centre of national discussions on governance, media, and public outreach.

Dehradun Hosts a Major National Gathering
The conference is being organised by the Public Relations Society of India and is taking place in Dehradun from December 13 to 15 as part of the Uttarakhand PR Conference. Participants from many Indian states are attending the event, along with international guests, including delegates from Russia. The wide participation reflects the importance of the Uttarakhand PR Conference as a platform for learning, discussion, and exchange of ideas.
Chief Minister Dhami formally opened the Uttarakhand PR Conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp. During his visit, he also explored a photo exhibition and various stalls that displayed Uttarakhand’s traditional handicrafts. These displays highlighted the state’s rich culture and craftsmanship, giving visitors a closer look at local art forms and creative skills.
Communication Linked to India’s Long-Term Vision
This year’s conference theme is “Viksit Bharat @2047: Development as well as Heritage.” The theme connects communication practices with India’s long-term goal of becoming a developed nation while preserving its cultural roots. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that public relations today plays a key role in shaping public trust.
He explained that people are surrounded by information from many sources, especially through digital platforms and social media. In such an environment, accurate and timely communication becomes very important. For a state like Uttarakhand, which is sensitive due to its geography and natural conditions, clear messaging is essential during emergencies, natural disasters, and public safety situations.
Discussions on Technology, Media, and Public Trust

The conference includes expert sessions on a wide range of topics. These include Uttarakhand’s development journey over the past 25 years, changes in media and public relations, the impact of artificial intelligence, cybercrime challenges, GST awareness, misinformation, and global public relations practices.
Chief Minister Dhami pointed out that modern communication systems must be quick, technology-friendly, and responsive to public feelings. He said that effective communication is especially important in areas such as disaster management, tourism promotion, and daily governance. When people receive clear and reliable information, it builds confidence and cooperation between citizens and the government.
Uttarakhand’s Growth and Future Plans
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister also spoke about Uttarakhand’s progress in recent years. He shared that the state has seen steady economic and infrastructure growth, with the economy expected to reach around ₹3.78 lakh crore in 2024–25. Improvements have been made in employment opportunities, road and digital connectivity, tourism, and the overall investment environment.
Initiatives like the Global Investors Summit, single-window clearance systems, and focused sector policies have helped attract businesses and create jobs. The Chief Minister stressed that Uttarakhand’s development approach aims to balance economic growth with the protection of nature, culture, and heritage.
He concluded by saying that Uttarakhand is contributing actively to India’s broader development goals. By combining progress with tradition and using strong communication practices, the state hopes to play a meaningful role in shaping a confident and informed society on the path toward a developed India by 2047.
