As the new Chair, Sindhu will act as a direct link between professional players and the BWF leadership. The new Athletes’ Commission reflects badminton’s worldwide reach. Debora Jille from the Netherlands has been elected as the Deputy Chair. Other members include South Korea’s Olympic champion An Se-young, Doha Hany from Egypt, and China’s Jia Yifan. Their presence ensures that different regions and playing styles are represented.

Para-badminton also has a strong voice in the commission. Chan Ho Yuen Daniel from Hong Kong China will serve as the full-time chair for para-badminton, while Indian para-shuttler Abu Hubaida is also part of the panel. This inclusive structure highlights BWF’s effort to support all athletes, regardless of category.
