Assam Special TET 2026 notification has been officially released by the Government of Assam for conducting the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels. This special TET is meant for candidates belonging to Bodo, Garo, Manipuri, and Hmar medium schools, as per the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

• Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education, OR
• Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

Educational Qualification for Upper Primary (Classes VI to VIII)

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

• Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed., OR
• Post Graduation with at least 55% marks and 3-year integrated B.Ed.–M.Ed., OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed., OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed, OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Note: Graduation percentage criteria will not apply to candidates who took admission to B.Ed. or B.El.Ed. courses before 29 July 2011.

Relaxation in Academic Marks

• Relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH) candidates.
• For PH candidates, disability should be minimum 40%, certified by a competent authority.
