India-Africa Summit 2026: India to Host Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit

India-Africa Summit 2026 to be held in New Delhi with focus on trade, investment, technology, and partnership.

India-Africa Summit 2026 will be held in New Delhi from 28 May to 31 May 2026. The Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV) will bring together leaders and representatives from African countries along with the African Union Commission. The summit marks the return of this important diplomatic forum after more than a decade, as the last summit was held in 2015.

India-Africa Summit 2026 Theme and Programme

The theme of the summit is “IA SPIRIT: India-Africa Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Resilience, and Inclusive Transformation.” The event will begin with a Senior Officials Meeting on 28 May 2026, followed by the India-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on 29 May 2026.

The summit aims to strengthen cooperation between India and African nations in different sectors. It will also help both sides discuss future plans for economic growth and development.

India-Africa Summit 2026 Areas of Cooperation

The summit agenda covers many important sectors such as trade, investment, digital transformation, sustainability, agriculture, health, education, climate action, defence, space technology, energy, and critical minerals.

A special declaration and roadmap for future cooperation are expected during the summit. The roadmap will connect India’s Vision 2047 with Africa’s Agenda 2063 for long-term growth and partnership.

India and Africa Economic Partnership

India and African countries have continued to expand their economic ties in recent years. India’s bilateral trade with African nations reached around US$82 billion during 2024-25.

India has also extended more than US$10 billion in Lines of Credit to over 40 African countries. Along with this, India has provided nearly US$700 million in grant assistance for development projects across Africa.

To improve diplomatic relations, India increased its resident missions in Africa from 29 to 46 by opening 17 new embassies in different African countries.

African Union and Agenda 2063

The African Union Commission is the executive body of the African Union, which includes 55 member states. Agenda 2063 is the long-term development framework adopted by the African Union in 2013 to support economic growth, peace, and sustainable development across Africa.

The India-Africa Forum Summit is expected to further strengthen cooperation between India and African nations in the coming years.
