India has long supported changes in key bodies like the Security Council to give fair representation to emerging nations.

A major part of the Jaishankar Global South G7 discussion was the focus on the Global South. Jaishankar pointed out that developing countries are facing serious challenges due to rising energy prices and supply disruptions. He emphasized the need for fair access to affordable energy, especially during global crises.
Building Strong Supply Chains
Jaishankar also spoke about the importance of strong and reliable supply chains. Recent global events like pandemics and conflicts have shown weaknesses in current systems. On the sidelines, Jaishankar met Anita Anand to discuss India-Canada relations. They explored cooperation in trade, agriculture, and critical minerals. Both leaders also discussed the ongoing situation in West Asia and its impact on global markets and security.
