Eligibility Criteria for PNB LBO Recruitment 2026

State-wise Application Rule Candidates can apply for the vacancy of only one state. A candidate applying against one state’s vacancy will not be eligible to apply for any other state.

Educational Qualification Candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University / Institution recognized or approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies as on 9th August 2026. The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Experience Candidates must possess a minimum of one-year post-qualification work experience in Clerical / Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Act, 1934 (as amended from time to time) as on 9th August 2026.

Selection Process

The selection process for Local Bank Officer consists of four stages:

There will be negative marking. One-fourth of the marks assigned to each question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks of 40% for General/EWS and 35% for Reserved categories in each section.

Screening

The online application and documents of written test qualified candidates will be scrutinized by the Bank to verify eligibility criteria before the Language Proficiency Test / Interview.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

Candidates who have not studied the local language of the applied state as a subject in 10th or 12th standard will have to appear for the LLPT. It is of qualifying nature and tests reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in the local language.

Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview of 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 45% (22.50 marks) for SC/ST candidates and 50% (25 marks) for other candidates.

Final Selection will be based on the combined performance in the Online Written Test and Personal Interview, subject to qualifying the LLPT (where applicable) and successful document verification.

Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹ 48480 – 85920 along with Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Medical Benefits, and other perks applicable to JMGS-I officers of Punjab National Bank.
