Special Assam TET 2026 Admit Card is now available for candidates who will appear in the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026. The State Level Empowered Committee, TET, Government of Assam has officially released the admit card for candidates of Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels.

This special TET exam is conducted for candidates of Bodo, Garo, Manipuri, and Hmar medium. The exam will be held on 28 June 2026, and candidates can download their admit cards from 12 June 2026, 11:00 AM onwards.

Candidates who qualify in this exam can apply for teacher recruitment in elementary schools of Assam, provided they meet all educational and professional requirements under NCTE rules.

Papers in Assam Special TET

The exam has two papers:

  • Paper I – For candidates who want to teach Classes I to V (Lower Primary)
  • Paper II – For candidates who want to teach Classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary)

Each paper contains 150 MCQs carrying 150 marks.

Qualifying Marks

To pass the TET exam, candidates need minimum qualifying marks.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam TET

Only permanent residents of Assam can apply for this exam.

For Lower Primary (Classes I to V)

Candidates must have one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% + Diploma in Special Education
    OR
  • Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

For Upper Primary (Classes VI to VIII)

Candidates must have one of the following:

  • Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% + B.Ed
    OR
  • Post Graduation with 55% + Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% + B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% + B.Ed (Special Education)

Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD categories get up to 5% relaxation in academic marks.
