What is the Corporate Mitra Scheme
The Corporate Mitra Scheme is designed to train young professionals who can support MSMEs in their daily operations. These trained individuals, called Corporate Mitras, will help businesses with accounting, legal compliance, and financial planning.
The scheme is supported by leading institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
These partnerships ensure that participants receive quality education and practical knowledge.

Training Structure and Learning Process
The Corporate Mitra Scheme offers a structured training programme of 12 months. It combines online learning with real-world experience.
Participants will complete around 150 hours of online courses through SWAYAM Plus. This will be followed by six months of practical training with professional firms.
This mix of theory and hands-on experience helps learners understand real business challenges and how to solve them.
Eligibility and Participation
The scheme is open to young individuals who are interested in building a career in finance and business support. Applicants must be graduates or in their final year of graduation.
The age limit is set below 30 years, making it a youth-focused initiative. This aligns with current trends where skill-based programmes are being designed to prepare young people for real-world jobs.
Such initiatives also help bridge the gap between education and employment.
Batch Size and Fee Structure
The first batch of the Corporate Mitra Scheme will include around 2,000 participants. Special attention has been given to regional inclusion, with reserved seats for candidates from the North East.
The course fee is kept affordable to encourage wider participation. Concessions are available for women candidates and students from specific regions such as Himalayan areas and island territories.
This approach ensures that opportunities are accessible to a diverse group of learners across the country.
Certification and Career Opportunities
After completing the course and training, participants will receive a Corporate Mitra certification. This certification can open doors to various career opportunities in finance, consulting, and business support.
Corporate Mitras can work with MSMEs, startups, or even start their own consulting services. This flexibility makes the programme attractive for young professionals.
As businesses continue to grow, the demand for skilled professionals in compliance and finance is also increasing.
Role in MSME Growth
MSMEs are considered the backbone of India’s economy. They contribute significantly to employment and innovation but often face challenges in managing finances and regulations.
The Corporate Mitra Scheme aims to solve this problem by providing trained professionals who can guide businesses. This support can help MSMEs operate more efficiently and grow faster.
In today’s competitive market, having proper financial and legal guidance is essential for business success.
Digital Learning and Modern Skills
The use of digital platforms like SWAYAM Plus shows the government’s focus on modern learning methods. Online education allows students from different regions to access quality training without relocation.
This is especially important in today’s digital age, where remote learning and flexible courses are becoming more popular.
The scheme also reflects the growing importance of skill-based education in India.

Future Scope of the Scheme
The Corporate Mitra Scheme is expected to expand in the coming years as more businesses look for professional support. It fits well with current trends like startup growth, digital economy, and entrepreneurship.
With proper implementation, the scheme can create a strong network of skilled professionals across India. This will not only support MSMEs but also contribute to overall economic development.
