IBM Sangam Innovation Centre Strengthens AI Infrastructure Development
The IBM Sangam Innovation Centre has been launched by technology company IBM at its India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) campus in India. The new facility aims to strengthen the country’s position as a major hub for advanced infrastructure engineering and artificial intelligence innovation.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The centre is designed to support both Indian enterprises and global markets by accelerating the development of secure and scalable AI-driven systems. With the growing demand for advanced computing infrastructure, the initiative reflects IBM’s long-term commitment to expanding research and development capabilities in India.
Collaborative Hub for Infrastructure and AI Innovation
The IBM Sangam Innovation Centre will function as a collaborative engineering hub where IBM systems architects and infrastructure experts work alongside industry partners. Enterprise clients, independent software vendors, global system integrators and capability centres will collaborate in the same environment to design next-generation technology solutions.
This partnership-driven model aims to accelerate the development of AI-enabled infrastructure solutions suited for complex enterprise environments. By combining technical expertise with ecosystem collaboration, the centre is expected to help organisations deploy artificial intelligence technologies more efficiently across sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing and telecommunications.

Integration of Hybrid Cloud and Advanced Systems
One of the key features of the IBM Sangam Innovation Centre is the integration of hybrid cloud platforms, advanced infrastructure technologies and artificial intelligence solutions in a single location. This integrated approach allows organisations to experiment, test and deploy enterprise AI applications using high-performance computing systems and scalable cloud environments.
According to IBM officials, this setup will enable enterprises to modernise mission-critical systems and make them compatible with AI-driven workloads. It will also support the development of secure infrastructure architectures capable of handling large-scale data processing and advanced AI model training.
India’s Expanding Role in Global AI Infrastructure
Industry leaders from IBM emphasised that India is entering a critical phase in its artificial intelligence journey, where strong infrastructure will determine the speed of innovation. As organisations across industries adopt AI technologies, the demand for modern computing infrastructure is increasing rapidly.
Research from the **IBM Institute for Business Value shows that around 58 percent of Indian organisations have already increased infrastructure investments to support the growing need for AI capabilities.
Rising Enterprise Investments in AI Technology
The study by the IBM Institute for Business Value also highlights that infrastructure spending among Indian companies is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Reports indicate that infrastructure budgets may increase by about 19 percent in 2025 as businesses continue expanding their artificial intelligence capabilities.
Additionally, nearly 43 percent of organisations in India are either setting up or planning to establish dedicated AI Centres of Excellence. These developments underline the importance of strong computing infrastructure in enabling large-scale artificial intelligence deployment.
With the launch of the IBM Sangam Innovation Centre, India is expected to strengthen its role in global technology development while accelerating innovation in artificial intelligence and enterprise infrastructure.
