India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 Strengthens Joint Military Cooperation

India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 begins in Uzbekistan, boosting joint military training, defence ties, and operational readiness.

India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 has begun as the Indian Army contingent departed for Uzbekistan to take part in the 7th edition of the joint military exercise. The exercise will be held from April 12 to April 25, 2026, at the Gurumsaray Field Training Area in Namangan. It reflects growing defence cooperation between both countries.

India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 and Its Purpose

Exercise DUSTLIK is an annual military drill conducted by India and Uzbekistan. It is hosted alternately by both nations. The previous edition was held in Pune, India, in 2025.

The main aim of India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 is to improve military coordination, strengthen defence ties, and boost joint operational skills in difficult terrain.

Participating Forces in India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026

India has sent a 60-member contingent for the exercise. This includes 45 personnel from the Indian Army, mainly from the MAHAR Regiment, and 15 personnel from the Indian Air Force.

Uzbekistan has also deployed around 60 personnel from its Army and Air Force. Equal participation from both sides supports better cooperation and training.

Focus Areas of India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026

The exercise focuses on joint operations in semi-mountainous terrain. Soldiers will train in physical endurance, tactical drills, and specialised combat skills.

Key activities include land navigation, strike missions, and seizure of hostile areas. The exercise also includes joint planning and command-and-control operations for better coordination.

Validation Drill and Strategic Importance

A 48-hour validation drill will test the operational readiness of both forces. It will focus on neutralising unlawful armed groups and handling joint combat situations.

India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026 also allows both countries to exchange military best practices, improve interoperability, and build stronger strategic relations.

Growing Defence Ties Between India and Uzbekistan

The exercise highlights the expanding defence partnership between India and Uzbekistan. Regular military engagements like DUSTLIK help improve trust, cooperation, and regional security.

Through India Uzbekistan DUSTLIK 2026, both nations continue to deepen military ties while enhancing preparedness for future joint operations.
