Inno-Yoddha 2025 encourages soldiers to use their experience and field knowledge to create useful solutions. Since soldiers face real challenges on borders, during combat, and in difficult terrains, they understand what tools and systems are needed. This event promotes a mindset where soldiers think creatively and propose technology-based solutions to overcome existing gaps. It also helps build a culture of practical problem-solving across the Army.
Achievements from the Innovation Programme

In the last five years, the Army has chosen 117 innovative ideas. Out of these, 47 have already been converted into final products, and nine prototypes are under testing. The Army has also filed 30 Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for innovations. Five major innovations have already been handed over to industry partners for large-scale production. These include:
- Exploder
- Agniastra
- Vidyut Rakshak
- Baaz Attack Drone
- Multi-purpose Octacopter
Two of these were awarded Transfer of Technology (ToT) on 5 December 2025.
Highlights of the 2025–26 Edition
The latest cycle of Inno-Yoddha 2025, held between November and December 2025, received a record 89 entries from different units and branches of the Army. After evaluation, 32 innovations were selected for further development and improvement. These selected innovations will now undergo testing, ruggedisation and refinement. Some may also receive IPR protection and could be manufactured in collaboration with industries, supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
