Nitu Sarma Noida Airport CEO Noida International Airport has appointed Nitu Sarma as its interim Chief Executive Officer after directions from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. This move follows rules that airport CEOs in India must be Indian citizens.

Nitu Sarma, who has been working as Chief Financial Officer since October 2021, has now taken charge as interim CEO with immediate effect. She will manage operations and leadership until a permanent CEO is selected by the Board.
Nitu Sarma Noida Airport CEO Rule
The decision came after instructions from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. According to BCAS rules, the CEO of an airport operating in India must be an Indian national. This led to a change in the top leadership at the airport.

Christoph Schnellmann Moves to New Role
Christoph Schnellmann, a Swiss national who served as CEO since August 2020, will now take up a new role on the airport’s Board as Executive Vice Chairman. In this position, he will continue to support the airport’s growth and long-term plans.
Strategic Importance of Jewar Airport
Noida International Airport is located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to become one of the largest airports in India. The project was inaugurated by Narendra Modi in March 2026.
This airport will help reduce pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport and improve air connectivity across North India. It will also boost trade, logistics, and economic growth in western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region.
