Major Companies Expected to Participate

Raksha Expo 2026 is expected to attract major international aerospace and defence companies, along with Indian public sector organisations. Global companies named for participation include Airbus, Boeing, Tata Lockheed Martin, Safran, Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace.

Indian defence public sector undertakings expected to showcase their products and capabilities include:

Raksha Expo 2026
  • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL): Works in aircraft manufacturing, helicopters and related aerospace systems.
  • Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL): Develops electronic systems for defence and other strategic sectors.

The expo is expected to bring industry leaders, technology developers and government representatives together to explore new projects and investment opportunities. More than 80 leaders from over 70 organisations are expected to participate, according to the event announcement.

Curtain-Raiser and Roadshows

Preparations for Raksha Expo 2026 include a curtain-raiser scheduled for October 24, 2026, at Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. Roadshows are also planned to promote the event and encourage participation from industry representatives.

The planned roadshows are scheduled for Hyderabad on October 24 and New Delhi on October 29. These activities are intended to raise awareness of the expo and connect potential participants with the event organisers.

Raksha Expo 2026 is also planned as a major event alongside the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, linking defence and aerospace development with the state’s wider investment promotion efforts.

Hyderabad’s Growing Defence and Aerospace Industry

Hyderabad has become an important centre for India’s defence and aerospace industries. The city is home to more than 12 Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) laboratories and supports research, engineering, manufacturing and technology development.

The region also has a network of companies working on aircraft components, defence electronics, aerospace systems and other advanced technologies. This industrial base makes Hyderabad a suitable location for a major defence and aerospace exhibition.

According to the figures provided in the event announcement, Telangana’s aerospace exports increased from ₹15,900 crore in 2023-24 to ₹30,742 crore in 2024-25. This represents an increase of approximately 93%.

The expo aims to build on this growth by encouraging investment, supporting domestic manufacturing and creating opportunities for Indian companies to work with global industry partners.

Telangana’s Defence and Security Goals

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has stated that the state wants to contribute to India’s national and internal security while strengthening its position in the global defence industry. The state has invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the main event.

The expo is expected to highlight technologies relevant to defence operations, aerospace engineering, space applications and internal security. Drone technology and other advanced systems are likely to be important parts of the programme.

By bringing manufacturers, researchers, investors and public sector organisations together, the event aims to encourage innovation and expand business opportunities in strategic industries.

Supporting Domestic Manufacturing and Innovation

Raksha Expo 2026 is intended to support India’s wider efforts to increase domestic production of defence equipment and advanced aerospace technologies. Exhibitions and demonstrations can help companies present their capabilities, identify suppliers and discuss potential partnerships.

Raksha Expo 2026

The event may also create opportunities for smaller businesses and technology firms to connect with larger manufacturers. Such cooperation can support the development of local supply chains and help strengthen India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

The combination of defence, aerospace, space and internal security under one event also reflects the growing links between these sectors. Technologies such as drones, satellite systems, advanced electronics and surveillance equipment can have applications across several areas.
