SEMICON India 2026 to Showcase India’s Semiconductor Push
SEMICON India 2026 will be held from 17 to 19 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention & Expo Centre in New Delhi. The three-day event will bring together companies, technology providers, policymakers, startups and other participants from across the semiconductor industry. The official theme of the event is “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.”
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The event comes at a time when semiconductor technology has become increasingly important for artificial intelligence, smartphones, electric vehicles, telecommunications, defence systems, data centres and other modern technologies. India is working to build a stronger semiconductor value chain, from chip design and manufacturing to packaging, equipment and workforce development.
SEMICON India 2026 and India’s Semiconductor Plans
SEMICON India 2026 is being organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and SEMI, with participation from industry and government partners. The organisers say the event is designed to strengthen India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain and encourage partnerships between industry, government, academia and startups.
The 2026 edition is expected to be larger than previous editions. The official event information lists more than 500 exhibiting companies from over 20 countries. It will also include a Startup Pavilion, Workforce Development Pavilion, country pavilions, state pavilions and a DeepTech Hackathon.
The exhibition will cover around 18,000 square metres, while a dedicated workforce development area will provide space for activities focused on building skills for the growing semiconductor sector.

Global Companies and Technology Participation
The event is expected to provide a platform for companies involved in different parts of the microelectronics supply chain. These include semiconductor manufacturing, chip design, testing, packaging, equipment, materials and related technologies.
The official exhibitor information already lists several major international and Indian technology companies. Companies such as Intel, IBM, ASML, Applied Materials, GlobalFoundries and other industry players are listed among the participating organisations and sponsors.
Country-focused participation is another important part of the event. The official event overview lists country pavilions representing Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, the Netherlands and other international partners.
Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Future Technologies
Semiconductor technology is closely connected with the rapid growth of artificial intelligence. Modern AI systems require powerful processors and advanced computing infrastructure, increasing the demand for advanced chips and related technologies.
The SEMICON India 2026 programme includes themes such as next-generation technology, AI, supply chains, sustainability, design-to-product development, startups and future workforces. These discussions are expected to focus on how India and international companies can build stronger and more reliable technology supply chains.
The event will also include discussions on electronic components and materials, workforce development and other areas that support the wider semiconductor ecosystem. A dedicated workforce programme will focus on areas such as AI-driven learning, semiconductor manufacturing skills and industry-academia partnerships.
India Semiconductor Mission
The event is also connected with India’s wider efforts to develop domestic semiconductor capabilities. The India Semiconductor Mission is the government’s key programme for developing the semiconductor and display ecosystem in the country.
India’s semiconductor strategy covers areas such as chip manufacturing, packaging, design, equipment, materials and research. The development of these capabilities is aimed at reducing supply-chain dependence and creating a stronger domestic electronics industry.
The semiconductor industry has also become important for India’s broader technology ambitions. Demand for chips is growing because of electric mobility, renewable-energy systems, telecommunications, consumer electronics, cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

Yashobhoomi to Host the Major Technology Event
Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, will host SEMICON India 2026 from 17 to 19 September. The exhibition will be held across Halls 1 and 2 of the venue. The organisers have also announced dedicated areas for startups, workforce development and other technology activities.
The event will give Indian companies and startups an opportunity to interact with international semiconductor businesses. It is also expected to create opportunities for partnerships, technology exchange and investment discussions as India continues to expand its presence in the global semiconductor industry.
With semiconductor demand rising worldwide, SEMICON India 2026 is set to bring together different parts of the technology ecosystem in New Delhi, covering everything from chip design and manufacturing to advanced packaging, materials, equipment, skills and emerging technologies.
