The report shows that strong domestic demand is a key reason behind India’s growth. In 2025, the economy grew by 7.4 percent. Rural consumption played a big role in this growth. Lower GST rates and early export activity also helped boost the economy before new tariffs were introduced by the United States.
The services sector remains the main driver of growth. It continues to support jobs and income across the country. However, exports to the United States fell by 25 percent in late 2025 due to higher tariffs.
Inflation and Investment Trends
India Growth Forecast 2026 also shows stable inflation levels. Inflation is expected to be 4.4 percent in 2026 and 4.3 percent in 2027. This indicates price stability in the economy.
Foreign direct investment in Asia saw a slight decline due to global tensions. Still, India remains a top destination for new investments. The country attracted around 50 billion US dollars in greenfield investments in early 2025.

Remittances and Green Jobs Growth
India continues to lead in global remittances. The country received 137 billion US dollars in 2024, making it the largest recipient in the world. However, a new 1 percent tax by the United States on remittances from 2026 may create some financial pressure.
India is also making progress in green jobs. Around 1.3 million jobs are linked to renewable energy and clean technology sectors. This shows a shift towards a more sustainable economy.
Role of PLI in India Growth Forecast 2026
The government’s Production Linked Incentive scheme is helping boost manufacturing. It supports sectors like solar energy, batteries, and green hydrogen. These efforts reduce imports and promote local production.
The report notes that such policies help create jobs and support long-term growth. Public investment and smart planning are helping India balance economic growth with environmental goals.
