Spread across 30.45 hectares, the Mandale Metro Depot has been engineered to stable 72 eight-coach metro trains. The unique two-tier design enables each level to house 36 trains, allowing efficient space utilisation within limited land availability. Its strategic positioning supports the DN Nagar–Mandale corridor, a crucial stretch expected to ease traffic congestion and improve daily mobility for lakhs of commuters.
Advanced Stabling and Expanded Track Network
The depot features an extensive 29 km internal track system, making it one of the most advanced metro stabling infrastructures in the region. The double-decker stabling layout ensures seamless movement of trains, while three elevated viaducts have been designed to streamline the circulation required for stabling, cleaning, and daily deployment of rakes.
Inspection and Maintenance Capabilities
To maintain uninterrupted operations, the facility includes 10 maintenance lines, six inspection tracks, and four bogie turntables. Heavy-duty storage systems and modern servicing tools have been installed to support overhauls and component replacements. These systems ensure that high-frequency services on Metro Line 2B remain reliable and well-maintained.
