The event was organised by the Brahma Kumaris, a well-known spiritual institution that promotes Rajayoga meditation and value-based living across the world. The gathering brought together spiritual leaders, social workers, volunteers, and citizens from different walks of life, all united by a common vision of an empowered and ethical India.

A Message of Balance in a Fast-Changing World

Addressing the audience, President Murmu highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance between material progress and moral responsibility. She acknowledged that economic growth and technological innovation are essential for national prosperity. These forces help improve infrastructure, create jobs, and raise living standards. However, she warned that progress without values can lead to serious challenges for society.

The President pointed out that unchecked economic expansion can result in unequal wealth distribution, environmental damage, and the exploitation of weaker sections of society. In the same way, technology used without ethical boundaries may threaten human dignity and safety. Her message was clear: development should not only be fast but also fair, humane, and sustainable.

Spirituality as the Foundation of Ethical Action

While speaking on the relevance of spirituality, President Murmu described it as a moral compass that guides individuals and institutions. She explained that spirituality encourages qualities such as honesty, compassion, non-violence, and service to others. These values, she said, are at the heart of Karmayoga.

Karmayoga, in simple terms, is the practice of performing one’s duties selflessly, without attachment to personal gain. According to the President, this approach helps people work with sincerity and responsibility, whether they are administrators, business leaders, teachers, or citizens.

She noted that when individuals act with a sense of higher purpose, their actions naturally benefit society. Such an attitude strengthens trust, cooperation, and harmony, which are essential for a stable and inclusive nation.

Leadership Rooted in Values

President Murmu also spoke about the role of leadership in shaping the future of the country. She said that leaders guided by spiritual and ethical principles are more likely to take just and inclusive decisions. Governance based on fairness and empathy, she observed, builds public confidence and strengthens democracy.

In her view, Karmayoga is not limited to personal life but is equally relevant in public service and administration. When policymakers and officials adopt selfless action as their guiding principle, governance becomes more transparent and people-centric.

Rajayoga and Active Engagement with Society

Referring to the teachings of Rajayoga shared by the Brahma Kumaris, the President explained that spirituality is not about withdrawing from the world. Instead, it encourages active participation in society with purity of thought and action. Rajayoga, she said, helps individuals develop inner strength, clarity, and emotional balance.

Karmayoga, when combined with Rajayoga, inspires people to carry spiritual values into their daily responsibilities. Whether at home, at work, or in public life, individuals are encouraged to act with discipline, humility, and dedication.

President Murmu expressed satisfaction that millions of people associated with the Brahma Kumaris are already practising these principles. She appreciated their efforts in promoting peace, social harmony, women’s empowerment, and environmental awareness.

Celebrating 25 Years of Om Shanti Retreat Centre

The silver jubilee celebrations of the Om Shanti Retreat Centre added special significance to the event. Located near Gurugram, the centre has, over the past 25 years, become a hub for spiritual education, leadership training, and wellness programmes.

President Murmu acknowledged the centre’s role in nurturing values among individuals and institutions. She noted that such spaces are important in today’s fast-paced world, as they provide opportunities for reflection, learning, and inner growth.

A Vision for an Empowered Bharat

Through the launch of Karmayoga for Empowered Bharat, the President presented a vision of national development rooted in ethics and spirituality. She said that true empowerment comes not only from economic strength but also from moral character.

According to her, when citizens align their professional skills with ethical values, the nation benefits in the long run. Sustainable development, social justice, and environmental care become achievable goals when guided by selfless action.

President Murmu concluded her address by expressing hope that Karmayoga would inspire people across the country to contribute positively to society. By combining economic progress with spiritual wisdom, she said, India can emerge as a global example of value-based living and responsible governance.
