The theme of the event is “Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge”. Around 284 companies are taking part in the symposium. These include MSMEs, defence start-ups, private technology firms, and military innovators.
The event creates a platform where soldiers, defence experts, and technology developers can interact and discuss new solutions for the Indian Army.
Focus on Modern Defence Technologies
One of the major highlights of North Tech Symposium 2026 is the display of advanced military technologies. Companies are presenting AI-based surveillance systems, logistics drones, and indigenous artillery systems.
Heavy-lift drones designed for difficult geographical areas are also attracting attention. These drones can support military logistics in remote and high-altitude regions.
The symposium is also focusing on maintenance systems and procurement processes to improve the operational strength of the Indian Army.

Indigenous Defence Systems on Display
Several Indian companies are showcasing products developed under the IDDM category, which stands for Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured. This category supports India’s self-reliance mission in defence production.
Dhash Defense Systems is displaying indigenous all-terrain vehicle platforms at Stall No. 67 in Hall B of the COBRA Auditorium.
The event highlights India’s growing defence manufacturing capabilities and encourages the use of locally developed technologies.
Role of SIDM and Indian Army
The Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers is playing an important role in connecting defence industries with the armed forces. The Indian Army is using this symposium to identify field-ready technologies for operational use.
Earlier, on 25 March 2026, a Compendium of Problem Definition Statements was released in New Delhi. It included operational challenges and technology needs of the Army.
Prayagraj Hosts Major Defence Event
Prayagraj has become an important centre for defence exhibitions and public events in northern India. The city is hosting experts, innovators, and military officials from different parts of the country during the symposium.
North Tech Symposium 2026 also reflects India’s growing focus on defence innovation, military technology, and indigenous production.
