DAANVEER Digital Platform

DAANVEER Digital Platform

DAANVEER Digital Platform helps citizens donate computers to strengthen Gram Panchayat digital infrastructure.

DAANVEER Digital Platform was launched by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj on 29 July 2026 in New Delhi to improve digital infrastructure in Gram Panchayats across India. The new initiative encourages citizens, businesses, and organisations to contribute quality-verified computer systems to eligible Gram Panchayats through the Meri Panchayat mobile application. Instead of making general donations, contributors can now provide standardised computer bundles that meet official technical requirements. The initiative supports the government’s larger vision of strengthening rural governance through technology and expanding digital access under the Digital India programme.

A New Initiative for Digital Rural Development

The DAANVEER Digital Platform has been introduced to make it easier for people to participate in improving digital facilities in villages.

Many Gram Panchayats across India require better computer systems and digital tools to deliver government services efficiently. By creating a structured digital donation platform, the Ministry aims to connect willing donors with local self-government institutions that need technological support.

The initiative also promotes greater public participation in rural development through a transparent and organised system.

DAANVEER Digital Platform

What Is the DAANVEER Digital Platform?

DAANVEER is an end-to-end digital platform that enables citizens and organisations to donate approved digital equipment to Gram Panchayats.

The platform operates through the Meri Panchayat mobile app, where donors can select pre-approved computer bundles that match government specifications.

Instead of sending random equipment, contributors provide systems that meet quality and technical standards.

This approach ensures that the donated equipment is suitable for official work and can be used immediately by Gram Panchayats.

Supporting Nearly 2.5 Lakh Gram Panchayats

India has nearly 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats, which form the foundation of rural local governance.

These institutions handle several important responsibilities, including:

  • Delivery of local government services
  • Rural development programmes
  • Public welfare schemes
  • Record management
  • Citizen services

As more government services become digital, Gram Panchayats require modern computers and digital infrastructure to serve people more effectively.

The DAANVEER initiative aims to bridge this technology gap.

Integration with the Meri Panchayat App

One of the main features of the initiative is its integration with the Meri Panchayat mobile application.

The app allows donors to:

  • View eligible Gram Panchayats
  • Select approved computer bundles
  • Complete donations digitally
  • Follow a transparent contribution process

The digital system reduces paperwork while making the donation process faster and more reliable.

It also helps ensure that equipment reaches the intended Gram Panchayats without unnecessary delays.

Connection with DigiHaat Marketplace

The platform has also been integrated with the DigiHaat marketplace.

Through DigiHaat, donors can purchase pre-approved computer bundles designed according to state-specific technical requirements.

This system ensures that all donated equipment follows standard specifications required for government offices.

Using verified products also improves compatibility, quality, and long-term maintenance of the digital infrastructure.

The structured approach prevents the supply of outdated or unsuitable equipment.

Transparent Digital Donation Process

One of the major strengths of the DAANVEER platform is its transparent workflow.

Every donation passes through a digital system that records and tracks the entire process.

This helps:

  • Improve accountability
  • Ensure proper allocation of equipment
  • Maintain transparency
  • Build trust among donors

The platform allows individuals and organisations to contribute confidently, knowing that their donations are reaching the intended beneficiaries.

Developed with Government Technology Partners

The DAANVEER initiative has been developed with technical support from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and DigiHaat.

The National Informatics Centre has long supported the Government of India by creating digital platforms and information technology solutions for public administration.

By combining the expertise of these organisations, the platform offers a reliable digital system for managing contributions efficiently.

The initiative was officially launched by Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, during an event in New Delhi.

Supporting Digital India and Viksit Bharat

The Ministry has linked the DAANVEER initiative with the broader goals of Digital India and Viksit Bharat.

Digital India, launched in 2015, focuses on improving digital infrastructure, expanding online government services, and increasing digital literacy across the country.

DAANVEER supports these objectives by providing modern technology to rural local bodies that deliver many government services directly to citizens.

Strengthening Gram Panchayats digitally can also improve the speed, efficiency, and transparency of local administration.

Positive Response from States

Officials from states including Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra have already reported encouraging public interest in the initiative.

Many citizens and organisations have shown willingness to donate computers for rural development.

Unlike traditional donation drives, DAANVEER follows a structured partnership model where contributors provide verified digital equipment rather than making unplanned contributions.

This organised approach helps ensure that donations meet actual requirements and can be used immediately.

Why Digital Infrastructure Matters in Villages

Digital infrastructure has become essential for modern governance.

Today, Gram Panchayats manage various online services related to:

  • Government welfare schemes
  • Birth and death records
  • Certificates
  • Public information
  • Digital payments
  • Administrative records

Reliable computers and digital systems help local offices provide these services more efficiently while improving communication with citizens.

As India continues expanding digital governance, strengthening village-level technology will play an increasingly important role in rural development.

Strengthening Rural Governance Through Technology

The DAANVEER Digital Platform represents an important step towards improving digital infrastructure in India’s villages. By enabling citizens and organisations to donate standardised computer systems through the Meri Panchayat app and DigiHaat marketplace, the initiative creates a transparent and efficient way to support nearly 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats. The programme reflects the government’s focus on Digital India, stronger local governance, and greater public participation in rural development, helping village institutions become better equipped to deliver digital services in the years ahead.
