Major Investment and Job Creation

The Maharashtra government aims to create around 1.5 lakh jobs through this policy. According to Ashish Shelar, the focus is on generating large-scale employment and supporting economic growth with modern technology. Many sectors like IT, electronics, and startups are expected to benefit.

AI Excellence Centres and Innovation Cities

The state will set up six AI Excellence Centres and five AI Innovation Cities. These centres will help in research, training, and startup development. They will also encourage partnerships between industries and academic institutions. The innovation cities are expected to attract new investments and improve the digital economy.

Strong Computing Infrastructure Planned

To support AI growth, the government will provide 2,000 GPUs. These are important for high-performance computing, which is needed for AI model building, data analysis, and advanced digital services. This move will help both industries and government departments use AI effectively.

Support for MSMEs and Skill Development

The policy will support around 5,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by helping them adopt AI technology. This will improve productivity and business growth. At the same time, nearly 2 lakh youth will receive training in AI skills, preparing them for future jobs and increasing employability.
