The Team Kalki Darknet Drug Bust has revealed a major online drug trafficking network operating across India. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recently dismantled this network after a detailed investigation in New Delhi. Officials said the group used darknet marketplaces and encrypted messaging platforms to sell and distribute illegal drugs in different parts of the country.

The operation was carried out after intelligence inputs were developed for nearly three months. Authorities believe this action is an important step in stopping the growing use of the internet and encrypted technologies for illegal drug trade in India.

Darknet Platforms Used for Drug Sales

Investigators found that the network had been active since January 2025. The group allegedly used darknet platforms where users can remain anonymous while buying or selling illegal goods. These platforms are only accessible through special software such as Tor, which hides a user’s identity and location.

The traffickers also used the encrypted messaging application Session to manage orders and communicate with buyers. Such applications allow secure communication, making it difficult for law enforcement agencies to trace criminal activities.

Officials say the use of these technologies is becoming more common among organised crime groups involved in online drug trafficking.

Drug Parcels Seized by Authorities

During the investigation, NCB officials intercepted several parcels connected to the network. Authorities seized narcotic substances from 13 domestic parcels that were being shipped to different locations within India.

In addition, two international parcels linked to the network were traced to Netherlands. Investigators believe the group used courier and postal services to quietly transport drugs across cities without raising suspicion.

According to officials, the traffickers relied heavily on parcel delivery systems to distribute drugs quickly and secretly across the country.

Cryptocurrency Used for Payments

The investigation also revealed that the network used digital currencies for financial transactions. During the raid, officials recovered several electronic devices from the accused individuals.

Investigators discovered a cryptocurrency wallet that may have been used for payments related to the drug trade. Cryptocurrencies allow users to transfer money with limited traceability, making them attractive to criminal networks operating on the darknet.

This case shows how modern drug traffickers are combining darknet marketplaces, encrypted messaging apps, and digital currencies to hide their activities.

Team Kalki Darknet Drug Bust Investigation Continues

Preliminary findings suggest that the “Team Kalki” network may have sent more than 1,000 drug consignments across India since January 2025. Authorities are now conducting forensic analysis of seized electronic devices and financial records.

Officials are also working to identify other members involved in the operation and trace possible international links. The Team Kalki Darknet Drug Bust highlights the growing challenge faced by law enforcement agencies in tackling cyber-enabled drug trafficking in the digital age.
