A Global Meeting Point for the Spice Industry

The International Spice Conference 2026 will be held under the theme “Spice 360 – Getting Future Ready.” This theme reflects the growing need to look at the spice sector from all angles. From farming practices and climate challenges to changing food habits and global trade patterns, the industry today faces many shifts at once.

Over the years, the International Spice Conference has grown into a trusted global platform. It allows people from every part of the spice journey—farmers, processors, exporters, buyers, and regulators—to connect, share ideas, and work together. The 2026 edition aims to strengthen these connections and encourage practical solutions that can help the industry grow in a balanced and sustainable way.

Strong Leadership and Key Voices at the Event

The conference will be inaugurated by Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog. In his keynote address, he will speak on “Transforming Agro-Industry: Innovation, Inclusion & Global Leadership.” His session is expected to focus on how agriculture-based industries like spices can grow through new ideas, wider participation, and a stronger global role.

Adding an international perspective, Martin Sonntag, CEO of Oterra, will attend the event as the Guest of Honour. He will speak on how collaboration, trust, and responsibility can shape the future of food and nutrition. His presence highlights the importance of global partnerships in building a resilient spice and food sector.

Kerala’s Deep Roots in the Spice Story

International Spice Conference 2026

Hosting the International Spice Conference 2026 in Kerala holds special meaning. According to AISEF Chairman Emmanuel Nambusseril, Kerala has been connected to the global spice trade for centuries. Traders from across the world once sailed to its shores in search of pepper, cardamom, and other prized spices.

Today, while global trade faces uncertainty due to changing policies and disruptions, the conference aims to rethink growth and stability for the spice industry. AISEF Vice Chairman Nishesh Shah noted that the theme of International Spice Conference 2026 highlights the shared responsibility of all stakeholders to prepare for future risks while also making the most of new opportunities.

Markets, Crops, and the Road Ahead

One of the key highlights of the International Spice Conference 2026 will be its focus on crops and markets. Recent global challenges have encouraged Indian exporters to look beyond traditional markets and strengthen ties with ASEAN countries and other regions.

Dedicated sessions will offer insights into production trends and market outlooks for major spices such as turmeric, ginger, cumin, chilli, black pepper, Mediterranean herbs, Chinese spices, and dehydrated products. These discussions are designed to help businesses make informed decisions and adapt to changing global demand.

By bringing together knowledge, experience, and fresh ideas, the International Spice Conference 2026 in Kochi aims to shape a future-ready spice industry—one that respects its rich past while confidently moving toward new global possibilities.
